Hello, delegates!
​
My name is Bismah Shaikh and I will be serving as the Director for UNODC at ISMMUN 2020. Beginning in the ninth grade, I attended ISMMUN 2017. Instantly, I was taken by the inspiring and motivating atmosphere which defined the conference. Since then, I have zealously attended these conferences, each one an everlasting memory engraved in my mind. Hence this will be my fourth MUN session but my first as a dais member.

In my first year of MUN I represented Saudi Arabia in ECOFIN. I was awarded distinguished delegate and that had given me a lot of courage to participate more as a delegate. The following year I received a verbal mention as Iraq in UNHCR. Last year I was a part of IOC and was representing The Russian Federation. This was one of the most difficult yet the most educational and interesting session that I attended. Here I was awarded honourable delegate.

My MUN experience has helped me develop several naïve yet unpretentious world views. Not only has it introduced me to international politics but it has also been a great learning experience for me as it has cultivated my mind and I hope that you too have an enriching experience in ISMMUN 2020.

GREETINGS DELEGATES!

First of all, a very warm welcome to all of you to this year’s ISMMUN’s UNODC. My name is Faizan Najeeb and I will be officiating as the Assistant Director of UNODC.
​
My first MUN experience started off with ISMMUN 2018 as a Delegate of France, to UNODC. I wasn’t well prepared and embarrassed myself, But I didn’t give up and I eventually won the Distinguished Delegate Award! I took part in my second MUN, participating as a Delegate of Portugal in the committee ECOFIN in ISMMUN 2019. In 2018, I was able to win the Best Delegate Award that year! This being my third consecutive year, I hope to make your experience at UNODC a memorable one.
Aside from MUN I am an ardent quizzer, having participated in many quizzes, a keyboardist and even an artist (nobody knows this though!). I aspire to become an Aeronautical Engineer.

It gives me immense pleasure to lead this wonderful committee along with my Director Bismah Shaikh. We both encourage you to do plenty of research about the topics that we are going to be covering. Please feel free to approach any of us if you have any questions or queries.
