DIRECTOR

Sri Ranganathan Palaniappan
Director
ECOFIN

My first experience with MUN began in the year 2017, where I posed as the photographer for the committee PRESSCORPS in ISM MUN 2017. I was surprised to see young brilliant minds debate aggressively to find solutions for some of the most pressing issues around the globe. This motivated me to participate in the second chapter of the ISM MUN 2018 as the delegate of France for the UNODC committee and I ended up winning the honorable delegate award.
Eventually, I went on to attend the 3 rd chapter of SIMUN in Coimbatore and competed with 110 delegates in the UNHCR committee to win the high commendation award. Fast forward to 2019, I served as the assistant director of the SPECPOL committee.

I firmly believe in the fact that we, as the younger generation, have to be involved in the happenings of today so that we can pave way for a better tomorrow, and I hope that MUN acts as a stepping stone for you to help create an idealistic future.

Greetings, fellow delegates!

'The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.'-Eleanor Roosevelt

I am Atharva Johri the assistant director for the committee ECOFIN. Now, my journey of MUN started 3 years ago in the committee DISEC as a chit bearer. I was astonished to see that children of my age who are supposed to be binge watching TV shows were trying to change the world in their own creative and different ways! That was the moment when I decided to become a delegate. The very next year I was the delegate of Canada in the committee SOCHUM. My first day was a bit hard, exhausting, divergent, I was a tad bit nervous, but by the second day I concluded that my first year as a delegate was virtuous and beautiful. During my second year, I was the delegate of Brazil in the committee G20 and it was another mesmerizing year. This is my fourth and final year in ISM-MUN as an Assistant Director of ECOFIN and I am really glad to have the opportunity that in my final year I get to mentor the new blood, the young delegates who may teach me something new, who might just change the way I see the world.

You delegates are the future...Best of luck!!
