DIRECTOR
Dear delegates,
Hello and welcome to the International court of Justice for ISM-MUN 2020! My name is Param Sheth and I am excited to be directing this committee. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you during the conference . To begin here is a little bit about my history in ISM-MUN.
My first year participating in MUN was back in 2017 when ISM-MUN was founded. I was genuinely interested and I thought I could try to get over my fears of speaking out to the public. I represented Serbia in FAO and I had a blast and for my excellent efforts I was awarded Best delegate. My second year participating in MUN was in 2018 where I was a part of a committee that had just been introduced , It was the international court of justice, a committee where the rules of procedure are completely different nevertheless I enjoyed myself and for my efforts I was awarded honourable delegate.
My third year in MUN was in 2019 where I had the extreme luck of being a part of the International court of justice again, and this was the year I fell in love with this committee as a Judge I had the opportunity to listen to two sides of the same coin and also had the chance to participate in some heated debates. For my active participation I was awarded best
delegate.
Participating in ISM-MUN has opened my eyes. It has taught me to be more sensitive to the world’s issues as well as to sympathize with various causes. It has taught me to be more rationale as well as level headed. It has also served as a place where I can sharpen my debate skills as well as enjoy myself thoroughly and I sincerely hope that this year too we can enjoy ourselves to the fullest extent.

I, Eshnika Singh, am pleased to serve as the Assistant Director of the International Court of Justice. I am greatly honoured to welcome you to ISM MUN 2020.
While posing as the delegate of the USA at ECOFIN at my very first MUN, I was assured that this was an experience I did not want to miss out on. Though I was not completely familiar with the conference on the first day, on the second day my efforts had paid off when I got the position of honourable delegate.
Last year, when I was a judge at the ICJ, my time was no less thrilling than the first year. Every part of the session, from questioning advocates to passing a judgement, was new to me. Despite this, I gave it my all and received the position of honourable delegate.

While on the surface ISMMUN seemed like a platform for discussion and debate, the last two years have made me realize that it is so much more than just that. It has opened up a world of rational and critical thinking. Being part of MUN has never been disappointing and I can assure you that you too will enjoy.
